International conference Towards Entrepreneurial Skillship: the role of higher education and business cooperation in a global era will take place on June 7th, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium. The conference will be an opportunity to learn more about the project results and main conclusions on how to intensify university-business cooperation and increase student employability.
The mission of higher education institutions is changing and expanding, this evolution is mirrored in the job market where new jobs and skill sets keep emerging. The relevance of higher education and the skills/competences needed for the current labour market continues to be an issue and a large number of highly qualified young people work in jobs that do not match with their talents and aspirations. At the same time employers report that they cannot find people with the matching skills to the job positions. It is therefore essential to explore new approaches to widening the role of universities, introducing entrepreneurship elements in the curricula as well as exploring highly relevant cooperation methods with businesses.
The programme of the event is available here and in addition to the presentations by the European Commission and project #europehome partner institutions, there will be two panel discussions with a focus on youth employment and skill gap as well as the role and potential of the university-business cooperation in the EU and global context.
The proposed recommendations are based on the results and main conclusions of project #europehome activities and are available here.
